Raka Josan

Raka Josan is the President and CEO of Josan Properties. He grew up assisting with the maintenance of his father’s real estate properties, and after receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree from the U of A, he joined the family business in 2001. He later returned to school, earning his MBA in 2006 from the U of C Haskayne School of Business. After working as a Financial Analyst with Brookfield Properties for two years, he returned to Edmonton to head the family business.

Under Raka’s leadership, the company has grown to work within all facets of commercial real estate, including land development, retail, office, industrial, multifamily, and hospitality. With properties throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia, and an AUM of over $200 million, Josan Properties has recently expanded to include 3rd Party Property Management Services.

Raka Josan demonstrates a strong commitment to community involvement through various leadership roles. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for NAIOP Edmonton and chairs the Downtown Advocacy Committee, actively contributing to the advancement of Edmonton’s urban landscape. As a founding and advisory board member of the Punjab United Sports and Heritage Association, Raka fosters social engagement and cultural heritage. Under his guidance, Josan Properties consistently supports a diverse range of community initiatives, reflecting his dedication to making a positive impact both locally and beyond.
